Tresiba® FlexTouch® is a prefilled, disposable insulin pen that delivers insulin degludec, a long-acting basal insulin with a duration of action of over 42 hours, providing flexibility in dosing time. It is indicated for the treatment of diabetes mellitus in adults and children aged 1 year and older. Tresiba® FlexTouch® is available in two concentrations

• U-100: Delivers up to 80 units per injection in 1-unit increments.

• U-200: Delivers up to 160 units per injection in 2-unit increments.

The pen is designed for ease of use, featuring an audible click to confirm dose delivery and a spring-loaded mechanism that eliminates the need for a push-button extension. It is compatible with most universal-fit needles, and Novo Nordisk recommends using the NovoFine® Plus 32G needle for optimal comfort.

Administration:

• Administered subcutaneously once daily, at any time of day, with the same time each day preferred for consistency.

• Injection sites should be rotated within the same region (abdomen, thigh, or upper arm) to reduce the risk of lipodystrophy and cutaneous amyloidosis.

Storage:

• Unopened pens should be stored in the refrigerator (2°C to 8°C) and protected from light.

• Once in use, the pen can be kept at room temperature (up to 30°C) or refrigerated for up to 8 weeks.

Important Safety Information:

• Do not share your Tresiba® FlexTouch® pen with others, even if the needle has been changed, to prevent the risk of infection.

• Not recommended for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis.

• Patients should be trained on the correct use of the Tresiba® FlexTouch® pen, including how to check the dose displayed on the pen
